The rain chain has quite the interesting history. First of all, they originated in Japan and they were called “Kusari Doi.” This dates back hundreds of years because the Japanese people would place rain chains around their temples and their homes in order to collect rainwater to be used later.

What is amazing is that, even today, rain chains are being utilized for purposes similar to that of the Japanese hundreds of years ago. To live a greener lifestyle, people are collecting their rainwater with a copper rain chain and using it to water their flowers. This is opposed to turning on the faucet and filling up a watering pot. This is anywhere between 1 to 2 gallons of water that does not have to be used from the faucet. The water that comes from the sky is better for the plants for the fact that it is natural. This shows how a copper rain chain and healthier plants can go hand-in-hand.

Although the Japanese were using the water accumulated from rain chains for more extensive uses, the concept has never left us. In modern times, we are using them to help us relax and to add a bit of beauty to our gardens. They come in so many different shapes, sizes, and styles that everyone can find something that they enjoy. There is no doubt that the Japanese creators of rain chains picked up on this very fact. And with a copper rain chain, you definitely have options as far as beauty goes. You can use sealants to keep the natural shine or you can let it turn green to give it that antique look.

So what you have is a product that serves a number of purposes. Not only is it directing the rainwater from your gutter system to the place in which it belongs, but it is also brings a peacefulness about your garden. You can just sit and listen to the rain run through your rain chain. The sound is magnificent and it is rather calming. It is no wonder that this concept has existed for so long.

It is also no wonder that this is a huge market. You see, many people are catching on that a rain chain can help them “harness their chi” when they are sitting outside on their porch or patio listening to the rain. There is simply something peaceful about the experience. If you have a stressful day at work, you simply come home and relax to the sound of your rain chain. This sort of takes the gloom out of a gloomy day.

So if you’re looking for that one thing that has functionality and can bring some enjoyment to your life, this is an affordable investment that will do just that. Passersby will notice that you have a bit of style happening on your home when they see your rain chain and, you never know, they might think, “Hey, that’s a good idea, I want to try that too.” Before you know it, your entire neighborhood will be sporting rain chains.
